It was nice to rest on the laurels of completion after finishing my first set of Obsidian Armor in Guild Wars 2. I cleaned, ran some errands, touched some grass… all good things that needed to get done. I also remember that as much as I enjoy Guild Wars 2 I am primarily a single-player game kind of guy.
Veilguard was calling to me. The Sims 4 was calling to me. Heck, even Baldur’s Gate III called to me. And I answered, starting new characters in each.
I also caught up on music sets. When I was grinding, the time I normally set aside to crate-dig Beatport’s excellent music selection was all used up fighting Eparch and Umbriel. Suddenly, I’m six sets ahead of schedule with plenty of time to hone each one to perfection. (Note: plenty of time does not mean any honing will actually be done. I make no promises.)
Lastly, I took a few days off from Guild Wars 2, but there are still two sets of Obsidian Armor left, and I’m not getting any younger. So I’ve been working on leveling up characters in an extremely lazy (but effective) fashion: heroic boosters and map completion. You’d be surprised how fast you can get a character from level 20 to 80 just by flapping around Central Tyria on your skyscale and stopping only for waypoints, vistas, the odd hero challenge, and points of interest.
Throw in a little daily chore list to slowly gather ingredients for the next set of armor, and I’ve had a pretty full week.
