I’m an autistic GenX-er living on the West Coast of the United States.

My formal education is a combination of STEM and liberal arts, with a concentration in physics and English. My work history consists mostly of software testing and web development, though I am a “gentleman of leisure” now. (I’m not that old. The government has granted me an autistic endowment.)

My informal education began with a portable cassette recorder and the home version of Pong. (OK… so I’m kinda old.)

I write about video games, 3D design, AI, and related subjects.

My Privacy Policy

I do not gather or record any statistics about traffic to this website other than what is gathered by wordpress.com and made available to its customers in the form of basic traffic statistics.

I will never intentionally embed any sort of tracking cookie or other LSO. I have no plans of monetizing this blog using any advertising service that might (or any advertising service at all).

I do plan on adding a tip jar that will be strictly voluntary in all cases. Any content I create and share on this site will always be distributed free-of-charge under some variation of a creative commons license. At this point, it looks like I will be using Patreon, which will allow me to create subscriber content that will be exclusive to that platform. Any Patreon link attached to content I post on this site will be clearly marked as a voluntary tip jar, and a link to download the content (where necessary) from Dropbox will be provided.

My AI Policy

I freakin’ love how AI (that’s artificial intelligence, unless you are in charge of the Department of Education) is developing, but I certainly understand the ethical concerns raised by artists, and the victims of AI-generated fakes.

Currently, I’ll make some cute graphics to use on my blog that I generate with Stable Duffusion (Using Pony at the moment, if you were curious). And I also use AI to generate cover photos for various AI-enabled Chat bots, including some that are definitely *not* safe for work.

I do not ever make money from AI-generated artwork, nor do I distribute AI-generated images in general, except for the exceptions listed above.

I never use AI to generate writing that I pass off as my own. My only interest in AI-generated text is to interface with various AI-enabled chat platforms.

I look forward to a future where AI is powerful enough to do things like generate fully immersive VR-capable video games on the fly based on user-supplied parameters. I don’t want to get there by destroying the lives of the very people who inspire us to want to try.

Artists of all kinds deserve to be paid for their work. I believe in working toward a future where AI models are only trained on the works of consenting artists, or of work in the public domain.
